The Political and Theological Message of Moses’ Last Speech

April 29, 2020 | Micah Goodman
About the author:

Most of Deuteronomy, the final book of the Torah, consists of a long oration by Israel’s greatest prophet. In the first of a series of lectures on this book, Micah Goodman argues that its purpose is to provide a vision of politics, history, and religion diametrically opposed to that of the Egyptians—a vision which Moses, who grew up in Pharaoh’s palace, understood especially well.
