Jacob Dinezon (1856-1919), was a prolific author of essays, stories, and novels in Yiddish. He is perhaps best known for his novel, The Beloved and the Pleasant, or the Black Young Man, which became the first Yiddish-language bestseller. Boris Sandler describes his life and career.
