Evangelical Christians have been ardent and loyal supporters of Israel since its founding. That is beginning to change.  

To prevent an evangelical turn away from Israel, Christian leaders should focus on our common origins, not on what will happen at the end of days. 

Once a cornerstone of the national culture, the mainline Protestant denominations have become the spiritual helpmeets of secular liberalism.

The Protestant founder did not always espouse the virulent hatred of Jews and Judaism with which he is now identified.
